Terms & Conditions

 

Definitions

 

  1. The term “company” shall mean the employer of the candidate entering into the agreement for training.

  2. The term “course” shall mean any course of training arranged by Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd.

  3. The term “candidate” shall mean any person accepted onto a course with Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd.

  4. It is deemed that a course has commenced when the first scheduled session is conducted or accessed.

 

 

Registration

 

  1. Registration on a professional training course must be made by completing either an on-line booking or by using a booking form provided by Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd.

  2. Registration must be completed by a delegate and/or company before a course place can be allocated. 

  3. Registration will be deemed to have been accepted only when confirmed in writing by Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd.

  4. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to refuse any registration without supplying a reason. 

 

 

Payment

 

  1. By credit or debit card using the on-line payment system or through PayPal (no account required), electronic invoice, over the telephone or in person within the training centre.

  2. By bank transfer. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd bank information included on course booking form

  3. By cheque/postal order: A single cheque/postal order should accompany each booking. Corporate or block bookings for multiple candidates should be accompanied by a single company cheque covering all candidates.        

  4. Cleared payment must be received 4 weeks prior to the course commencement date.

  5. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to re-allocate course places to other candidates if fees are not paid on time.

  6. In the event of late payment, Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to charge interest on all outstanding amounts.

  7. Bookings will not be processed until cleared payment has been received. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to pursue its legal options in the case of default on payment and to recover reasonable administration costs.  

 

 

Cancellation or alternatives  

 

  1. Should Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd find it necessary to cancel or reschedule any course, the candidate will be offered an alternative course or a full refund.

  2. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to provide an alternative venue and suitably qualified tutor or instructor to those originally published. 

  3. Candidates may be substituted without penalty provided written notice is received prior to course commencement.

  4. Once the candidate has been enrolled onto an examination, substitutions cannot be made and the fees are non- refundable/non-transferable

  5. Should the company or candidate cancel, Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to charge a fee. If the company or candidate wishes to cancel their booking after confirmation they must contact Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd immediately to notify them of their intention.

  6. Flexible study and training programmes (including blended programmes) will automatically be cancelled, with course fee payments prior to cancellation being non-refundable, should a candidate become inactive. A candidate will be deemed inactive if :- 

       i)  The candidate has not accessed the e-learning platform('s) for study purposes during a twelve calender month period.

       ii) The candidate has not attended the training centre for study or training purposes during a twelve calender month period.

7.   If the company or candidate cancels a booking after confirmation Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the right to retain any deposit or deposits paid,   

      transfer the booking to an alternative delivery date where agreed by all parties or apply a 'Cancellation Charge' as detailed below:

 

  • 4 weeks (or more) prior to course start date: £25.00 administration fee + deposit

  • 1 – 4 weeks prior to course start date: 50% of course fees   

  • 1 week of course start date: 100% of course fees 

 

 

Bookings  

 

  1. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure the training course is suitable for their purpose.

  2. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd has the right to refuse entry to any candidate who fails to arrive at the correct venue, or on the correct date or time, or who in their opinion is unfit to take the course, or whose conduct or behaviour is disruptive.

  3. The decision of Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd on the suitability of the candidate to complete the course shall be final and binding. 

  4. Any candidate, who fails to arrive at the correct venue, or on the correct date and time, will be deemed to be a cancellation, fees already paid will not be refunded in these circumstances. No alternative course dates will be offered.

  5. Joining instructions and directions to the venue will be sent out approximately 14 days before the course start date.

  6. Course material will be provided on the first day/evening of the course. Where applicable, a short end-of-course assessment will be undertaken and a certificate will be provided upon successful completion. 

 

 

Certificates  

 

  1. Due to the high cost of replacing lost certificates Ipswich Skills Centre will retain the delegate’s certificate for the candidate to collect. Alternatively Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd can post the certificate by Recorded Delivery to the candidate at a cost of £3.75..

  2. If the certificate is lost in the post Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd cannot accept any responsibility and cost of replacement certificates will be borne by the candidate at a cost of £40.00.

  1. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reserves the proprietary rights on all course notes and material provided for a company or candidate and no part of any course notes or material may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means of electronic mechanical photocopying recording or otherwise or stored in any retrieval system of nature without the written permission of Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd. 

 

 

Warranties and Liabilities

  

  1. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd warrants that the courses will be provided using reasonable care and skill and, as far as reasonably possible, in accordance with generally accepted industry standards and accreditation, wherever appropriate, and within the times referred to in the registration form.

  2. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd shall have no liability to the company for any loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation arising from any course material or instructions supplied by the company which are incomplete, incorrect, inaccurate, illegible, out-of-sequence or in the wrong form, or arising from their late arrival or non-arrival, or any other fault of the company.

  3. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd does not accept responsibility for any claims for consequential loss suffered by the candidate and/or the company following the cancellation or postponement of a course/s. 

  4. The liability of Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd for the cancellation or postponement of any course/s shall be limited to the course fees. 

  5. The liability of Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd for any expense, loss, cost or damage of any kind whatsoever whether direct, indirect or consequential (apart from personal injury or death) arising out of any action of proceedings relating to any services or equipment provided in accordance with the course shall be limited to the total amount of fees charged in respect of the course.

  6. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd shall not be liable to the company or be deemed to be in breach of contract by reason of any delay in performing or any failure to perform, any of Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd obligations in relation to the course, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd reasonable control.

  7. Ipswich Skills Centre Ltd is unable to offer refunds for cancellations arising from events outside of its control including adverse weather conditions, flooding or industrial action.
