How will you study?

We understand how difficult it can be to commit to a course that requires attendance at a training centre or college on fixed dates, therefore we offer a more flexible approach to training for those of you who have busy lifestyles or simply cannot take time off from work.

Our flexible study and training option provides the opportunity for you to study on any device (mobile phone, tablet or PC), anywhere, at any time using our professional e-learning platforms, directed and supported by a dedicated personal tutor blended with traditional course book study.

If your chosen course includes practical elements you will be required to attend our training centre for sessions to develop your practical skills, we offer this training on a very flexible basis with attendance being programmed at mutually agreed times.

You will also be required to attend our centre for any on-line examinations and assessments, once again these will be planned to take place at mutually agreed times.

No quiet time at home or elsewhere to study?

No problem, our flexible study and training option includes the opportunity for you to use our training centre facilities to study in peace and quiet whenever you want* and for however long you want. All we ask is that you contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your intention to study in the centre to make sure we have enough space for you, rarely a problem but we wouldn’t want to cause you any inconvenience.

This innovative, flexible approach to learning provides you with the added benefit of having an expert member of staff on hand to direct and support your studies if needed at no extra cost.

Please note

In-centre study facilities are available Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm. Alternative times may be available subject to operational demands at the training centre, simply call us and ask if you would like to come into the centre at a different time!

How does flexible study and training compare to traditional course delivery?

Like most training providers and colleges, we offer courses delivered using traditional methods. A traditional course typically requires you to sit in a classroom environment where a tutor will deliver the theory content of your chosen course, this requires you to be available to attend sessions on set days or evenings at set times but if you miss a session it is unlikely that the content will be covered again! This type of study and training suits many people but not everyone, especially those of you with other commitments such a work, family or simply a busy lifestyle!

Our flexible study and training programmes provides you with the best of both worlds, you have control and decide when, where and for how long you study but with the full support of an expert tutor whether you decide to study in-centre or elsewhere. You will even use the same e-learning platforms that our tutors use in the classroom to support your studies and if you decide to use our study centre facilities we will provide you with free refreshments such as tea, coffee and biscuits.........you will even find a selection of free sweets in your study area if you wish to indulge, the choice is yours!

A key factor to consider when choosing a course and the method of delivery is the learner success rates. Here at Ipswich Skills Centre we proudly boast exceptionally high success rates across the range of our provision including our very popular flexible study and training programmes, this fully reflects the quality of our training and the learner support provided.
