Important, please read!

 

We recommend a practical pre-assessment day in our training centre for candidates with limited previous experience

of commissioning, inspection and testing (this is mandatory for candidates with no previous practical experience)

 

 

Who is this qualification for?

 

 

  • Prior achievement of a Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installation qualification (17th edition of the

      IET Electrical Wiring Regulations, version 2008, 2011 or 2015) is a requirement for course entry. Proof of prior 

      achievement will be required before course commencement without exception

 

  • Experienced electricians and those looking to apply for JIB Approved Electrician Gold Card status

 

  • Mature adults with on-site electrical experience will be considered on an individual basis subject to pre-entry

      interview to assess suitability for the course

The above qualifications are the direct equivilents of the City & Guilds 2394 and 2395 qualifications and are equally recognised by all professional electrical industry organisations and bodies (e.g. JIB)

How is the qualification assessed?

 

  • 2 x on-line examinations

 

  • 6 x practical competence assessments

 

  • In the unlikely event that you do not achieve a positive examination or practical assessment result we will provide you with one further attempt free of charge!)

  • IET 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS 7671 (new 2015 yellow cover version)

 

  • IET Inspection and Testing Guidance Note 3 (new 2015 yellow cover version)

 

  • Writing materials, calculator and suitable safety footwear for workshop sessions/assessment

 

 

How is this course package delivered?

 

  • Daytime course - 5 days (9.30am to 4pm) delivered over three weeks + 2 days (9am to 5pm) for practical

       competence assessments

  • Additional 12 hours for practical competence assessments

 

  • Additional 4 hours for on-line examinations

 

  • Additional 6 hours for practical pre-assessment day where applicable

     

  • Flexible study and training programme options are delivered to meet individual needs

  • Daytime course for qualified electricians with previous practical experience of inspection and testing -

  • Daytime course  for electricians with no previous practical experience of inspection and testing -

       £1134.00 including mandatory practical pre-assessment day  (£100 deposit followed by 1 x £1034.00 payment           

       prior course commencement) 

 

  • Flexible study programme for electricians with previous experience of inspection and testing               

      £795 (£400 deposit followed by 1 x £395 payment prior to training centre attendance for examinations and practical

      competence assessments)

 

  • Blended flexible study and training programme for electricians with no inspection and testing experience -                   

       £934 (£400 deposit followed by 1 x £534 payment prior to training centre attendance for examinations, practical   

       pre-assessment day and practical competence assessments) 

 

  • Optional Practical pre-assessment day for electricians with previous practical experience of inspection and testing -

       £139 (1 x £50 deposit followed by 1 x £89 payment prior to course commencement)
