Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information update – 20th March 2020

We remain open for business but are now operating in a different way during this period of uncertainty. Learners will be able to continue their studies using our e-learning platforms, course books and other provided course resources. Learner support will be available via telephone, email, and other electronic means including ‘Facetime’ and dedicated ‘WhatsApp’ links.

However, after much consideration and consultation with key stakeholders, on the instructions of the Company Directors of Ipswich Skills Centre the suspension of all learner training room, practical developments skills and assessment activities within our workshop will be in place between the 23rd of March and the 3rd of April 2020 and will be subject to further review thereafter.

Activities within the Centre are now strictly subject to compliance with the current guidance provided by the Government and World Health Organisation and the assessment of the COVID-19 virus risk levels being at a level that appropriately protects the welfare and health of all learners, members of staff and potential visitors. The next risk level assessment has been planned for the 31st of March with a view to updating the status of learner activities within the Centre from the 6th April onwards.

Visits to the Training Centre will be restricted to authorised members of staff or essential visits (e.g. examinations) authorised by the Directors of Ipswich Skills Centre where other external means would prove ineffective.

In accordance with all of our course booking terms and conditions, Ipswich Skills Centre reserves the right to rearrange alternative future dates and times for courses where these cannot be delivered on previously agreed dates and times due to events beyond our control.

Strict cleaning protocols have been implemented on a daily basis to those surfaces that may be exposed to touch by hands within the Training Centre together with strict protocols relating to social distancing.

We are requesting that any learner, member of staff or potential visitor who may be displaying any of the COVID-19 symptoms or may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, informs us immediately and do not attend the Centre.

Members of staff displaying symptoms or having been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, will be immediately required to self-isolate in accordance with the current Government guidance.

We thank everyone for their co-operation and understanding in advance, please take care and keep yourself safe during these difficult times.
