• Daytime course - 4 days centre based training + additional 1.5 hours (daytime or evening) for on-line examination

Important, please read!

 

We recommend a practical pre-assessment day in our training centre for candidates with limited previous experience of commissioning, inspection and testing (this is mandatory for candidates with no previous practical experience)

 

 

Who is this qualification for?

 

• Prior achievement of a Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installation qualification (IET 17th Edition of the  Electrical Wiring Regulations BS 7671, version 2008, 2011 or 2015) is a requirement for course entry

      Please note: proof of prior achievement will be required before course commencement without exception

 

• Both new and experienced electricians

What does it cover?

 

• Safe isolation and Initial verification of electrical installations

• Completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to being placed into service

• Safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations

• Testing requirements for circuits and installations before and after they are energised

• Completion of electrical installation certificates, condition reports and schedules

• Safety of systems and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning

• Inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service

• Commissioning electrotechnical systems and equipment

 

 

How is the qualification assessed?

• 1 x on-line multiple-choice examination

 

• 4 x practical competence assessments

 

• In the unlikely event that you do not achieve a positive examination or practical assessment result we will provide you with one further attempt free of charge!)

 

 

What will you need to provide?

• IET 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS 7671 (new 2015 yellow cover version)

 

• IET Inspection and Testing Guidance Note 3 (new 2015 yellow cover and yellow band version)

 

• Writing materials, calculator and suitable safety footwear for workshop sessions/assessment

 

 

How is this course delivered?

• Daytime course - 4 days (9.00am to 4pm) delivered over two weeks

• Additional 7 hours for practical competence assessments

• Additional 3 hours for on-line examination

• Additional 6 hours for practical pre-assessment day where applicable

How much does this course cost?

• Daytime course for qualified electricians with previous practical experience of inspection and testing -                  

       £695 (£100 deposit followed by 1 x £595 payment prior to course commencement)

 

• Daytime course for electricians with no previous practical experience of inspection and testing -                 £834 including mandatory practical pre-assessment day (£100 deposit followed by 1 x £734 payment prior to course commencement

 

• Flexible study programme for electricians with previous practical experience of inspection and testing -                

       £595 (£400 deposit followed by 1 x £195 payment prior to training centre attendance for examinations and   

       practical competence assessments)

 

• Blended flexible study and training programme for electricians with no inspection and testing experience -

       £734 (£400 deposit followed by 1 x £334 payment prior to training centre attendance for examinations, practical

       pre-assessment day and practical competence assessments)

 

• Optional Practical pre-assessment day for electricians with previous practical experience of inspection and testing -

       £139 (1 x £50 deposit followed by 1 x £89 payment prior to course commencement)
